Food is always great my daughter loves it and she's a picky eater. We have been ordering food from them many years now.
Can't believe I never left a review for Koreander. It's my go to spot in Montclair when feening for Korean food. Service is great! Parking is off street parking but I usually don't have a hard time finding one. Waiting for the food they give you a complimentary soup, radish, kimchi and a potato app. As for food, my favorites is the Bimbimbap with Pork Belly, Bulgogi Dupbap and Samgyubsal Dupbap. Make sure to order it in a hot stone bowl with black rice and an egg. This is what I always get with a side of Koreander Iced Tea. When the kids are with us they always give them a Choco Pie for free. You can call to reserve if you have a large party. Definitely give it a try.
Friday night in Montclair, I was staring at Steven Tyler's face at Koreander.... his picture is on the wall and I was waiting for my takeout order. Our plans changed from a sit-down meal to takeout at home, so I stopped into this Korean eatery on my way home from work to pick up some delicious comfort food to share together. With my vegetarian meal companion, here is what I ordered: - bibimbap (great seasoning on these fresh assortment of vegetables - with that tasty fried egg!) - veggie japchae (make sure to order the veggie one, the regular has beef) - soondubu chigae (the spicy broth and extra silky soft tofu makes this one of my fav comfort food meals) The waiter who took my order was on point. I had placed my order there with him, paid, and then came back to pick up. The place was bustling when I was there. Despite the business, he remembered and called me by my name and handed me the bag, ensuring I had a good hold onto it. Also, while I was staring at Steven Tyler/waiting, the owner also checked in on me and made sure I was taken care of. Warm, friendly customer service here. No wonder the place was packed on a Friday night - delicious food and good vibes. Recommended!
You know what, I wasn't even hungry but as I was heading to my barber across the street and waiting at the stoplight to cross, a friendly Korean man said "hello how are you doing?" while organizing the seating outside the restaurant. I decided to stop by after my haircut to try this place out and it did not disappoint! Now there's a lot of good Korean food in the bay and especially in Southern California but this spot is good! I only ordered a kimchi jjigae and it came with a few typical banchan - kimchi, pickled radish, and stir fried potatoes. The kimchi jjigae had rice cakes in it so it was extra filling. It was delicious and had more of a homestyle flavor to it. I am interested in trying more of their dishes as you usually can't go wrong with kimchi jjigae.
Koreander is our go-to spot whenever the temperature drops or it starts to rain. Their heart-warming hot bowls stay piping hot throughout the entire meal, perfect for those chilly days. Once seated, you're treated to a delightful array of traditional Korean appetizers. We enjoyed miso soup, kimchi, pickled daikon, and potatoes - all fresh and flavorful. This time, I ordered the La Galbi, marinated grilled beef short ribs. It came with a side of rice and was served on a sizzling hot plate with onions and topped with spring onions. The short ribs were incredibly tender and perfectly seasoned. My fiancé went for her usual, the bulgogi dupbap. This dish features bulgogi beef, vegetables, and sweet potato noodles over rice in a sizzling bowl. The heat from the bowl crisps up the rice underneath, creating an amazing balance of textures with each bite. I wish you could hear the sizzle in these pictures! If you haven't been to Koreander yet, you're missing out!
Very courteous and friendly staff the restaurant is small and presently decorated. Always a nice crowd and warm feeling to this place. The food was very tasty beautifully presented. We enjoyed our Dinner great selection of food enjoyed our visit will definitely return
I love the owner of Koreander. He's so friendly and funny. Koreander has a small interior but the walls are covered in photos which is very sweet. My friend and I were itching for Korean BBQ and Koreander did not disappoint. I had the bulgogi spicy, level 4 to be exact. It was spicy but still flavorful. Before our meal, they brought out small plates including kimchi and they also gave us delicious soup. My friend got the galbi which he enjoyed and the Koreander iced tea which he really enjoyed.
It is located in Montclair, right in the center of town. We had just finished walking through the Van Vlech gardens and wanted lunch. We started with the miso soup, seafood pancake, and the pickled dishes that the restaurant serves. The pancake was delicious. It had pieces of octopus, fish, and shrimp. It came with a soy dipping sauce. The pancake was the size of a personal pizza. We ordered the beef bulgogi and the chicken dupbap in a heated stone bowl. Both dishes had great flavor, and the portions were big. They have a variety of no. Alcoholic drinks to choose from. Service was friendly and quick. Will definitely come back to enjoy another great meal.
Came here on a whim because we were around the area and was craving Korean food. The food was delicious, and good portions for the 3 of us. I highly recommend the goonmandu, because the flavor was unique and spices were great. We also ordered wings and seafood pancake. While tasty, it was a bit on the oily side. Prices are also up there, so something to consider. Overall good time.
